🎬 Step-by-Step Guide on to join the campaign

First, choose a Story Format from the two recommended options below:

#DayInTheLife

#WhyIWorkInWind

Option A: #DayInTheLife

Shoot in first-person POV or over-the-shoulder style to make it immersive.

Capture a sequence or short snippets of your workday, such as:

  • Getting ready for work
  • Arriving at site/office
  • Putting on your work gear (if applicable)
  • Performing a task (climbing turbine, working on grid, analysing data, logistics coordination)
  • Break time / human moments (having a coffee in the break room, having lunch in the company garden, eating with colleagues)
  • End of the day (final tasks, closing up the office, leaving)

No speaking is necessary at this stage; as you can record and add a voice-over afterwards explaining your routine.

Option B: #WhyIWorkInWind (My wind job)

Portrait style: it can be filmed as an interview, or using the questions as guidance to explain why you chose to work in wind.

Start with: “I am [your name] and I work in wind because…”

Try to answer these questions in the course of your video:

  • “Why did you choose to work in wind?”
  • “What excites you about your role?”
  • “How did you end up here?”

Use video footage/images in between of i.e. wind turbines, your office, your colleagues, etc to change it up.

Pre-Production

For both video options:

  • Shoot the clips in vertical format (9:16).
  • Keep it short: Max 90 seconds (preferably only 60 seconds).
  • Equipment: Use a smartphone.
  • Angles: Shoot from various angles/various locations to add visual interest.

Choose your subject:

  • A wind turbine technician, engineer, policy advisor, communications officer, etc.
  • Alternatively, someone who transitioned into wind from another sector (e.g. hospitality, IT, logistics).

Edit with smartphone apps such as CapCut or FlexCut (both are free)

  • Import footage: Open CapCut and import your video clips.
  • Trim and split: Cut unnecessary parts and arrange clips in a logical sequence.
  • Add a voiceover: Record a voiceover explaining your daily routine or why you work in wind.
  • Add captions: Insert automatic captions to ensure accessibility.
  • Export: Once satisfied, export your video in the desired resolution.
